Anyone can become a qualified PADI Dive instructor. You just have to qualify to take the PADI Basic Instructor Development Course and be at least eighteen years old. But there are some other requirements that you will have to go through to become a qualified PADI dive instructor.
The Course to Take
You will need to earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification by completing the PADI Open Water Diver course and passing the written test. You will also need to complete a primary PADI Dive Log and obtain the necessary certification to teach PADI’s dry land.
You will also need a certificate from any of the PADI dive schools. The PADI instructor training schools have courses to complete before being certified, and then there is the open water certification.
What Happens When You are Certified?
Once you are certified, you can work as a divemaster and lead dive teams. You may also be asked to train new PADIs. If you want to teach the PADIs in the open waters, you must be certified by a local school where the PADIs have been chartering for a while.
You can apply to become an Instructor and start teaching others. With more people interested in diving, a PADI instructor will find many schools hiring an expert.
Become an Open Water Instructor
You will have to complete a refresher course when you become an open water dive instructor. This refresher course is called the Open Water Instructor Course or Open Water Instructor refresher. You will spend four hours, regularly, on refresher courses to keep your certification valid.
Once you become an open water instructor, you will have to complete the next level to become an open-water instructor master. In this level, you will teach open water dives on all types of dive boats, such as the Nautilus and the Aquarius.
The Open Water Master Instructor certificate will give you all of the skills needed to become an instructor at any PADI schools. When you become an open water master instructor, you will be responsible for training all PADIs who work under you. Your job description will include teaching the open-water diving students about the dive boat, how the dive boat works, where the equipment comes from and maintaining the gear and the boat. Also, you will teach open water diving students on how to make use of all of the instruments.
With your Padi dive instructor certificate, you can even look for options where you can start your PADI training services.
