The Ins And Outs Of TV Video Production

The Ins And Outs Of TV Video Production

These days, almost everyone owns a television and almost everyone watches the television from time to time. What most people don’t realize when they sit down to watch their favorite TV show is what actually goes on behind the scenes to bring that show to the viewing masses.

When it comes to TV Video Production, there’s more than meets the eye, literally. Most of what goes into creating a television production is not seen by the viewers at home, most of it happens behind the camera and when the cameras aren’t even rolling.

If you’ve never been behind the scenes while a TV Video Production is being worked on, you’d be shocked to see the amount of time and work goes into your favorite programs. In fact, it’s a bit overwhelming the first time you see these behind-the-scenes workings. You’ll never watch a television program in the same way again!

First of all, there’s the high number of people who are required to make the production happen including:
Camera operators
Sound technicians
Makeup artists
floor directors
Camera directors
Switchers
Graphic technicians
Lighting technicians
The actors

I’m sure I left out some positions but as you can see, it takes a lot of people to make a production for television. During any production, there are many steps that need to be taken. The actors need to have their makeup, hair and wardrobe done before anything happens. During the production, everyone has to work together to ensure that everything is operating correctly, everyone is where they are supposed to be and the sound, lights, titles and shots flow together to create the images you see at home.

If you are interested in learning more about television production or you’re interested in pursuing a career in the industry, many communities have a local TV station that allows spectators. Some of these stations even hire volunteers to help out with the productions and gain experience working in the industry. It’s also a fun way to meet new people, learn new things and have fun while you’re at it.

Many community colleges also offer a one or two-year college program and many universities offer 4-year programs in related studies such as journalism.

Watching what goes on behind the scenes of a TV production is an enriching and interesting experience that will change your perception of this beloved activity. Knowing what goes in behind the camera will change your perception of TV forever.
