Frosted acrylic sheets have nearly all of the characteristics that make the traditional clear variant so popular: lightness, low cost, strength, durability and versatility. Its distinct surface, however, makes it quite special. It is not transparent but rather translucent. Light goes through but the figures on the other side are blurred. You can see the shape of the figures but not their details. This makes the sheets ideal for applications that require a bit of privacy. Some people also prefer the matte surface over the glossy ones due to personal taste. Different colors are available to match the immediate environment and project a certain mood.
Shower Stalls
Bathrooms are generally tiny spaces that are only a few square feet in total area. If the homeowner wishes to separate the shower area from the rest of the space to keep things tidy then a frosted acrylic sheet may be used to get the job done. It is moisture resistant so there won’t be any issue with corrosion or degradation. Even a thin sheet will be sufficient enough for the task unlike bricks and other materials which are comparatively thick. Light can still get through to the inside of the stall so it will not be dark or unpleasant while taking a shower. You still feel connected with the rest of the space.
Room Dividers
The same principles can be applied when using the acrylic sheets for virtually any room. For instance, you might have moved into a house with a large open planned living area that transitions seamlessly into the kitchen and dining area. Some might love this and leave everything untouched. Others might want to add dividers to give privacy to each area. Frosted Perspex of a low height is perfect for providing a certain amount of privacy without totally closing off one space from another. Light and air can still move freely across the room so illumination and ventilation will not be compromised.
Office Walls
Glass offices are extremely popular in modern buildings. These promote transparency in terms of business activities. Managers can watch over their staff from the corner office and the staff can also be assured that they can reach out to their manager whenever they need to. Meeting rooms can be closed off from the rest of the floor for private discussions without totally blocking off the activity from others. The walls can be a mix of frosted and clear sheets to get a good blend of privacy and transparency. The implementation can be done with modern aesthetics for a pleasant design.
