A Padi Dive Instructor Course

A PADI dive instructor course is a great step toward a fantastic career in the diving industry. Becoming a qualified PADI diver is not an easy task. It takes a long time before you can get a job as a full-time diver, so why not make it easier by taking a PADI dive instructor course first? You can then become a certified PADI diver once you have completed the course. Or, as an alternative, you could register for PADI certification online and work towards your PADI diver’s license at the same time.

The PADI course consists of two parts. In part one, students are trained to recognize and use various physical and mental signs indicative responses that could indicate danger from under the water. These responses include raising the head and face, body posture, breathing, and increasing pulse rate. Part two of the PADI dive instructor training will teach students the relevant breathing techniques needed when dealing with an emergency. It will also show students how to quickly manage an emergency by calmly getting out of the water and communicating with a rescue crew, essential in any emergency first-response situation.

PADI dive instructor are normally involved in one of three ways. They may be employed by a PADI diving school, a PADI diving resort, or independently. Most PADI instructors are qualified in all three areas. Some instructors specialize in one or two areas. Most PADI instructors are full-fledged divers, although some instructors teach basic skills such as personal buoyancy and equipment used in recreational settings. A few instructors specialize in teaching advanced skills, often referred to as ‘terminal procedures,’ which are not covered by most PADI courses.

As an instructor, you have the opportunity to travel around the world to teach PADIs to individuals who wish to become certified divers. There is no limit to the destinations that you can visit or the number of countries that you can teach students from. If you want to travel around the globe and visit various PADI centers, then you can even coordinate your travel with an experienced scuba coach. Teaching others gives you the opportunity to spread the love of diving and educate others about the sport. When you are signed on as an instructor, you have the ability to set up an office at a PADI resort, take advantage of educational opportunities for your students, or set up a full-time vacation center.
